This is a replacement battery to power the computers Clock & CMOS memory it is suitable for the A3000 and is also believed suitable for the A540.
The battery is horizontally mounted. Note that replacing the battery requires the motherboard to be removed and the old battery to be desoldered first.
The batteries come with the connecting pins welded on for superior reliability and longevity.
This item is a single 'cell' so it shouldn't really be referred to as a 'battery' which means two or more cells working in series. The term 'battery', however, is now frequently used when referring to a single cell and some modern dictionaries are now reflecting this.
n.b. Acorn originally fitted a Varta V280H battery, these are no longer available, this unit is a suitable replacement.
