Specially commissioned version of the PS2Mouse mini with a 20cm long cable, making it suitable for an A3000.
This interface allows a PS/2 three button mouse to be plugged into most RISC OS computers, including A310, A400, A440, A30x0, A4000, A5000, A4 & RiscPC. It is not required for the Acorn A7000, A7000+ or RiscStation which have a PS/2 mouse interface built in.
If your mouse has a scroll wheel, the PS2MouseMini can make use of it.
Configuring scroll wheel use on RISC OS 4.04 and below:
1) Put the PS2MouseMini (PS2MM) into 'Driver' mode:
With the PS2MM connected start the computer up with the middle button (wheel) and right button held down*.
2) Install the STD Wheel driver (Available from http://www.stdevel.co.uk/Supp_ps2.html )** into: ADFS::HardDisc4.$.!Boot.Choices.Boot.Tasks
Configuring scroll wheel use on RISC OS Select & Adjust i.e. versions greater than 4.04:
1) Put the PS2MouseMini (PS2MM) into 'Driver' mode:
With the PS2MM connected start the computer up with the middle button (wheel) and right button held down*.
2) In the machine Configuration go to Input then to Mouse and set 'Mouse Type' to:
PS2 mouse (STD interface)
3) In Configuration -> Input go to Mouse scroll and tick 'Allow scroll wheel to control windows'
* This has to be done with the mouse connected directly to the computer and cannot be done using a wireless mouse.
** Although this driver is listed as 'beta' on the STD website, this driver has been tested and used quite happily with several different mice over the last couple of years here at CJE.
