Description:
Talking Rhymes takes a nursery rhyme - shown is words, pictures or both and jumbles them up. Children click on pieces of the resulting jigsaw puzzle to actually hear what that piece says, then drag it to its correct place. Once the rhyme is complete, they can watch a superb piece of animation with a singalong tune.
The programs use sampled speech, so children will have no difficulty learning the rhymes, while pre-readers will gain as much as early readers. Each rhyme can be scrambled in different ways: pictures can be divided into rows (sentences), cells (words) or even columns! You can print out the screen at any time.
Talking rhymes helps get youngsters reading and improves their listening, concentration, sequencing and memory skills, as well as getting them used to dragging objects around the screen.
