Newton is a Logo Microworld designed to encourage the exploration of forces. You are provided with many extra primitives, which allow you to give the turtle mass, set up forces which act on the turtle, and to observe the effect of these forces. There are also additional primitives for drawing force diagrams. Using Newton as an extension of practical work allows many opportunities for investigating problems, such as frictionless surfaces which would otherwise be difficult to explore. Lunar landers, bouncing balls and collisions can all be explored in Newton.
