The A3000 & most A5000s have their MEMC chips surface mounted, the others are socketed.

MEMC chips are PLCCs - a special chip removal tool is recommended for socketed PLCCs (we can supply one)

A310 & A440 Archimedes need a MEMC1A kit unless previously fitted.
