ProgCalc
A Programmable Desktop Calculator

As well as being a full function scientific calculator, ProgCalc may be
programmed with a set of complex operations, which may then be carried
out at the click of a button. Programming is simply acheived by
clicking the 'Program' button and then clicking the required sequence of
actions. These are then executed by clicking the 'Run' button.
Stored programs may be saved under a user defined name, and recalled
later from a pop-up menu as required. A simple 'single-step' facility is
provided so that programs may be checked easily.
Numeric values are entered from the keyboard or keypad, and the simple
maths operators, addition, subtraction, etc, may be entered from the
keypad or by clicking the buttons.
The display may be set to show in 4 different formats; fixed point (as shown
above) exponential, engineering (using exponent values 3,6,9,etc), and hex.
The angle functions may use degrees or radians, and the displayed decimal places
may be set from zero to 18.
The system used in this calculator, known as 'reverse polish' ensures that all
intermediate values are stored automatically, and always visible, so you can see
exactly which values are to be operated on when you click a function.
For example, the '+' button or key will remove the two lowest values shown
in the x and y registers, add them, and place the result back in the x register.
Unused values higher up the stack will fall down as lower ones are used.
In this way ALL intermediate values are automatically stored and used
when required.
All inverse functions, (anti-logs, etc) are activated by clicking with Adjust, or by
using Shift while clicking.
The functions provided include polar to/from cartesian co-ordinates, conversions
to and from Hr.Min.Secs to decimal, permutaions and combinations, factorials, etc.
What isn't provided may easily be programmed by recording the keystrokes required
and storing it for use at any time in the future. ProgCalc will increase in
usefulness as you build up a library of functions useful to you.
This sytem, is simple and easy to use and
requires less key strokes for complex calculations. You will soon find it a permanent
fixture on your desk-top.
The UK price of ProgCalc is just 25.00 fully inclusive.
